“Fusion”, the theme of GRAPHIC TRIAL 2017, can be interpreted in various ways. As the organizer of this project, Toppan Printing sees “Fusion” as a process of merging graphic design and printing techniques together. However, for me, “Fusion” means what I understand and learn from others, some kind of “chemical reaction” caused by other people’s thoughts and creations. Reviewing my journey of exploring graphic design, there are so many predecessors in this field that have made me feel these “chemical reactions”. Therefore, I have chosen ten designer predecessors who have given me important “chemical reactions”, and created a series of five posters combining two designers in one group.
