About the Work

The Great Depression was a time in the United States in the 1930’s when everyone was poor and having the hardest lives. A very upbeat, happy form of dancing called “swing” was born from this sad, dark period in American history. A man and a woman enthusiastically swing dance while discussing their super-horrible lives during the Great Depression. A super appears at the end of the film that says “Bad times make great art.” We cut to footage of modern-day President Trump and then another super that reads “This year’s festival should be amazing.” The film ends with the logo for the Brooklyn Film Festival.
