About the Work
Special Olympics fights for total cultural inclusion for all people with Intellectual Disabilities around the world. Casting representation in advertising and marketing campaigns tell the culture what is normal. We can’t be what we can’t see. Despite sportswear marketing including athletes with diverse backgrounds and abilities, these global brands have never included athletes with Intellectual Disabilities in general market sportswear advertising. Ever. Instead of asking again for these brands to be inclusive, we created a resource and called out these brands directly. We sent tailored direct mail invitations, print and OOH for the CEOs and CMOs of the top six global sportswear brands. Encouraged them to start using InclusionImageBank.com immediately in their campaigns. Our print and OOH served as an example of the image bank in action.
