About the Work

For their 2018/19 season the Berlin Philharmonic – one of the world’s leading orchestras – will have no chief conductor. The recent chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle left in the summer of 2018, his designated successor Kirill Petrenko will only arrive in summer 2019 – leaving a one-year gap in between. Instead of a time of creative anarchy, the audience can enjoy a season of creative freedom – symbolized and celebrated with an art installation that rearranges the Berlin Philharmonic equipment as eye-catching sculptures within the Berlin philharmonic hall.
