About the Work

Herbert is a display serif typeface inspired by work of graphic designer Herb Lubalin, designed in 2018/2019 by Danilo De Marco for K95 Studio. Herbert is not suitable for long text and small size, because each letter has a strong contrast between thin and thick rods, giving it elegant and aesthetic appearance. It can be used to write titles and particular works graphics/typographic. The name Herbert is a tribute to American graphic designer Herb Lubalin for 100th anniversary of his birth. Lublin's typographic works have had a great impact on graphic history. His huge typographic talent was beyond simple functionality, it was much aesthetic and expressive and the letters geometrical shapes were part of his graphic.
