About the Work

Student Debt Is Transforming the American Family. The challenge of paying for college binds parents and children together in a saga of ever-growing sacrifice. – Hua Hsu I was asked to illustrate an article by Hua Hsu in The New Yorker about the effects of student debt on the American middle class. The illustration was printed as a full-page illustration in the issue of September 9, 2019.
