About the Work

On July 19th, 2019, GRAND CINEMA SUNSHINE opened its new cinema complex in Ikebukuro Tokyo. We postproduced a short film called "TRANSPHERE" that fully utilizes the 26m x 19m IMAX screen and 12ch sound system, as one of the feature contents for its grand opening promotion. To us, it was one of the most challenging projects ever, we were involved from the R&D stage to finally create every CG scene and delivered the picture in 4K. The audience encountered a highly immersive visual experience, which could only be appreciated at this specific theatre, and a profoundly reverberative acoustic experience, which created a prime audiovisual experience. TRANSPHERE is a love story that depicts the predestined bond between a guy and a girl, expressed through an experimental film that intertwines in between the macro-micro cosmos we are in. It is an extremely unique short film like the “mandala” which is backed by Asian outlook of the world and philosophy.
