Besides soy, some cotton plantations may also be responsible for the increase of deforestation in the Amazon. In response to this, Hermoso Compadre launched its ECO line, made only with recycled and sustainable material.

To promote this launching and raise awareness of the impact that more responsible production could have on our eco system, we have distributed jigsaw puzzles to the customers, illustrated with several species of Amazon fauna.

However, there is one important detail: a missing piece in each puzzle. With the help of a QR Code, the customers will discover this detail noting that this missing piece represents an animal that is on the endangered species list.

So, how to help these missing animals to get back into the game? We invite our customers to donate to our NGO partner (SOS Amazônia), and doing so they receive the missing piece.

The lettering was inspired by the work of the Abridores de Letras (Letter Openers), who are artists from the North and Northeast of Brazil responsible for painting the names of the boats that sail the Amazon rivers. In synergy with this, we were inspired by elements of Brazilian folkloric designs, found on bar walls, truck beds, cachaça labels (cachaça is the national Brazilian hard liquor), signs and other items throughout this region to make a unique illustration style.
