About the Work
Teaming up with director Niclas Larsson, Oscar-winning DoP Linus Sandgren (La La Land, No Time To Die) creates a soulful, mature and charged visual language for WhatsApp. His fluid camerawork and seamless day-to-night transitions condense the action, creating this unusual and visually powerful diary of a relationship.
Linus’ work forcefully explores the passion, despair and hope between the two protagonists. In both the more natural interactions and the more artistically elevated moments of the film, he focuses the viewer’s eye on what really matters. And the colors that his lighting lends to the Kodak film stock are simply to die for.
