About the Work
In Japan, about one-third of vegetable produce is thrown out because they look ugly. We focused on health issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vegetable Pharmacy is a shop where people can purchase vegetables according to their health conditions. The vegetables were displayed on the shelves by different effects: cold prevention, increasing appetite, and others. We provided an experience of choosing the vegetables based on their effects, rather than just judging by their appearance.
The event was held on Japan’s Food Waste Reduction Day, and for farmers, this project has created a new way to sale the vegetables that would have gone to waste.
