About the Work

Planeta Compartido is a project created by the Centro Cultural de la Recoleta, one of the most democratic places in Buenos Aires, which celebrates culture in all its forms.
The project's main idea is to enjoy nature in its most important essence, which is sharing. When we talk about the environment, we often only look at forests and ocean preservation, but in fact, our planet is much more complex than that. We live under a huge network of small ecosystems that form the most exuberant planet in the universe (at least as far as we know). Everything is connected! A forest needs fungi that preserve the soil, a fish needs algae, and a human needs food and oxygen. We can mention several examples. The illustrations show different kingdoms, such as the animal, vegetable, fungus, and protist kingdoms.
However, a natural kingdom does not end at its walls, it needs the help of other kingdoms to survive, so our compositions emulate the sharing of space among several living species, always focusing on the main one but opening space for its friends, and finally for its human mates.
This series seeks to show that yes, it is possible to live in harmony with the planet and that more than ever we need to learn to respect any and all species before it is too late.
We must learn to share, urgently.
