About the Work
80% of women are unhappy with what they see in the mirror, making them feel ashamed and insecure about parts of their skin such as wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulitis, birth marks and even freckles. Dove has a clear brand purpose: to make beauty a source of confidence, not anxiety.
For the first time in history Dove changed its iconic bar soaps, exposing bars people had never seen on the market, but had always been there: the ones with factory flaws such as cracks, slits and bumps, that just like the marks on the skin, make part of real beauty. This proved not even the soaps that we perceive as smooth, delicate and perfect, actually are and showed that the marks that make us real, are beautiful.
A truthful and beautiful tribute to real skin, led to empower every women who had ever felt insecure to show their true self posting their real skin on social media with the hashtag #RealBeauty.
