Background

Ten degree tour is a high-end club in Hangzhou with an Eastern artistic style. The interior environment uses concrete and stone, creating a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. Its product is Wuyi Mountain "Mountain and Water" rock tea, which is aimed at club consumers. The packaging design needs to have cultural gift attributes and reflect the concept of tea and landscape.

Creative Idea

The entire design is composed of a creative combination of inner and outer elements. The outer box is made of environmentally friendly paper that reflects the characteristics of "rock tea", and a tea bowl composed of different sizes of circles can be seen. The thickness of the lines inside the box changes to form a mountain range. The paper crosses and overlaps to display the mountain, water, and reflection images. The water shadow partially overlaps in three layers and echoes the hollow of the outer box tea bowl, making the tea pouring more vivid.

Insights & Strategy

In the market, the packaging designs of similar products are highly similar. Most of them directly combine ancient landscape paintings and calligraphy fonts. And our project hopes to be unaffected by current popular styles, but the attributes of the product still need to be understood by consumers. Finally, considering the concept of symmetry in Eastern aesthetics, it realizes the creative concept of central axis symmetry of circles of different sizes, mirror symmetry of upper and lower mountains, and cross-overlapping of inside and outside, forming a penetrating power of culture, art, and story, which is a reflection and construction of Eastern aesthetics.

Execution

The outer box is made of environmentally friendly paper that reflects the characteristics of "rock tea", and the transition page inside the box is made of kraft paper that is similar to the color of the tea soup. The combination of different papers and colors inside and outside reflects the white pottery tea bowl and tea soup. Inside, through the intersection and overlap of two sheets of paper, in addition to depicting the images of mountains, water, and reflections, it can also create a three-dimensional effect with three layers stacked together. After precise laser engraving, the hollowing of the tea bowl is not offset, and the precise position of the transition paper in the box can make the lines of the picture blend.
Turn the page further inside. In addition to the small tea packages, there are cards and brochures that provide information about the brand and the tea. Enhance the sense of ceremony throughout the opening process.

Results

Tea holds a high cultural status in China and East Asia, in addition to its daily consumption, giving rise to unique history, customs, and economy.
After the product is packaged, it is deeply loved by customers and their sales audience, who feel that the packaging fully reflects the brand's culture, art, and story penetration, and is a deconstruction and construction of Eastern aesthetics. After using the product, they were reluctant to throw it away as garbage, and would collect or display it. This is also an environmental protection concept for us.
