Footnote is a new journal dedicated to fostering artistic exchange and interdisciplinary dialogue. Each issue invites writers, photographers, and artists from around the world to creatively respond to a central text, building vibrant connections across disciplines. The debut issue features poet and novelist A.K. Blakemore’s evocative story Peg, a hallucinatory exploration of mutation and decay that inspires a dynamic and diverse range of responses. From Jack Davison’s photographic meditations on transformation and the occult to Nam Le’s poetic reimagining of a classical descent to the underworld, contributors delve into the rich, visceral themes of Blakemore’s narrative. Essays, visual art, and fiction by renowned creators such as Brian Dillon, Sarah Blais, and Eley Williams extend the conversation, creating an immersive experience that bridges literary and visual storytelling.
