Each year, The Strategist’s editorial team carefully curates a dynamic selection of holiday gifts, assembling surprising and desirable items in categories ranging from beauty products to home goods, kids toys, tech gadgets, jewelry, fashion, food, and more. In 2024, New York Magazine commissioned artist Hugo Yu to photograph a selection of the most covetable items from the list. From a children’s toy bike to a feather-covered Ferragamo shoe, Yu created surreal, immersive compositions that not only emphasized the idiosyncratic nature of each product but also showed gift giving as an art.
