Background

Over 25 years, OFFF has evolved from a small local gathering in Barcelona into a global landmark for creativity, bringing together artists, designers, technologists and digital creators to explore the future of their disciplines. As the festival expanded internationally, its identity no longer reflected its scale, ambition or influence.

OFFF needed a new brand system that could signal this evolution while preserving its cultural roots. The challenge was to create an identity capable of holding OFFF’s past, present and future simultaneously — honoring its heritage while positioning it as a forward-looking force shaping creative culture worldwide.

At the same time, OFFF had historically redesigned its brand every year, requiring significant time and resources while limiting long-term recognition. The opportunity was to create a cohesive, enduring system that could unify the festival across platforms, locations and years. The challenge was to build one flexible enough to evolve alongside the creative community it serves.

Creative Idea

We reimagined OFFF as a magnetic force: a center of gravity for the global creative community.

Inspired by the physics of magnetism, the identity is built on two core dynamics: Attraction and Projection. Attraction represents OFFF’s ability to draw creative minds together, while Projection reflects how ideas born at the festival radiate outward into the world. These forces shape a visual language of motion and energy, expressed through expanding forms, accelerating movement and a system that balances inward pull with outward expansion.

The logo embodies this concept, with each letter drawn inward to form a tightly unified wordmark that acts as an anchor for content, imagery and messaging.

Rather than a static identity, the system is designed to behave like a living force — constantly gathering, amplifying and projecting creative energy across mediums and environments.

Insights & Strategy

OFFF’s true value lies not just in being an event, but in acting as a meeting point where creative collisions spark new movements. We believed that the brand should reflect this role.

The strategy was to shift OFFF from a festival identity to a platform identity — one that could scale globally while remaining rooted in its community.

We focused on creating a system that could express both unity and expansion: a central force that brings people together, and a dynamic energy that pushes ideas outward. Equally important was designing a framework that could replace the need for annual rebrands. By creating a constant yet adaptive system, OFFF could maintain continuity while still feeling fresh each year, allowing the brand to grow alongside the festival rather than continually reset.

Execution

The identity system was built to express magnetism through every element.

The custom wordmark acts as a visual anchor, capable of containing imagery, motion, and content while reinforcing OFFF’s role as a creative hub. Motion principles simulate attraction and projection through accelerating movement and expanding forms, creating a visual rhythm of energy and impact. A flexible color system balances grounding primary tones with expressive secondary colors that amplify the sense of expansion.

Typography is anchored by the custom typeface OFFF Baikal, pairing heavy, stable weights with lighter, expressive styles to embody the push-pull dynamics at the heart of the concept.

The system extends seamlessly across physical environments, digital platforms, communications and programming — enabling OFFF to maintain a consistent presence while adapting to different contexts, speakers and yearly themes.

By replacing the previous cycle of annual redesigns, the new system provides a unified foundation designed to guide the festival into its next chapter.

Results

The new identity established OFFF as a more cohesive and recognizable global platform, reinforcing its role as a central gathering point for the creative community.

By introducing a constant yet flexible system, OFFF reduced the need for complete annual redesigns, allowing resources to shift toward programming and experience rather than rebuilding the brand each year. The identity provides a scalable framework that supports the festival across locations, channels and future editions — strengthening consistency while enabling ongoing evolution.

Most importantly, the brand now reflects OFFF’s true role as a cultural catalyst: a magnetic force that brings creative people together and projects their ideas into the world.
