ADC Awards

The ADC Annual Awards is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world. Now in its incredible 102nd year, these awards celebrate the very best in advertising, digital media, graphic and publication design, packaging and product design, motion, experiential and spatial design, photography, illustration and fashion design all with a focus on artistry and craftsmanship.

In a career spanning 25 years, André Carrilho has won over 30 national and international prizes in illustration, editorial cartoon, animation and caricature, and has shown his work in group and solo exhibitions in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, France, Czech Republic, China and USA. His work has been published in an extended list of newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, Independent on Sunday, NZZ am Sonntag, Harper's Magazine, Diário de Notícias and New Statesman.

In 2002 he was awarded the Gold Award for Illustrator's Portfolio by the Society for News Design (USA), one of the most prestigious illustration awards in the world. In 2015 one of his cartoons on the ebola epidemic became viral worldwide, winning the Grand Prize at the World Press Cartoon. That same year he was invited to create a caricature mural to decorate the famous annual Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party.
