INSHADE is a Russian brand based in Moscow, inspired by Russian culture and contemporary art with the focus on prints, colors, embroideries, and details. The most preferred and commonly used materials - silk in different types, cotton, wool.

The special 10th-anniversary issue of WeAr global magazine refers to INSHADE as one of most interesting Russian fashion-brands.

Works by INSHADE are parts of the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art "Garage" and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.

INSHADE have participated in numerous art festivals and fairs, including the World Expo in Hannover and The 3d World Theater Olympics in Moscow. Dresses from INSHADE’s Park Kultury project are now part of the U.S. Bread & Puppet Theater museum collection. INSHADE was a member of the Russian Fashion Week, participated in Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg fashion weeks, along with making own seasonal shows in Moscow, participated at CYCLES & SEASONS by MasterCard. Also, INSHADE won the Grand Prix of the international design competition in the creation of clothing and accessories for people with disabilities (Bezgranits Couture INTERNATIONAL FASHION AND ACCESSOIRE AWARD 2011). From 2016 starting to taking part in Paris Fashion Week.

INSHADE designer and co-owner Maria Smirnova is based in Moscow, Russia. In 2000 she graduated from the Moscow State Textile Academy; along with that with the support of George Soros Foundation she also studied at the School of Contemporary Art, from which she graduated the same year. All of her collections are produced in Russia. Recently she became the curator of fashion styling at the Faculty of Communication, Media and Design at the Higher School of Economics.
