ADC Annual Awards is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world, with an incredible legacy of over 100 years. Laura Varsky

Co-director

Postgraduate Program in Professional Illustration at the University of Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Laura is a graphic designer, graduating with honors from the University of Buenos
Aires, and holds a postgraduate degree in Management and Politics in Culture
and Communication from FLACSO.

She has specialized in the design of albums and books. In 2006, she won the
Latin Grammy Award for Art Direction and was nominated in 2014, 2015, and
2018, among other recognitions. Notable accolades include the Excellence Award
from Communication Arts in 2015 and the second national prize in the design
category from the National Fund for the Arts in 2018.

Simultaneously, her interest in developing different graphic languages and finding
her own has drawn her into the world of illustration, where she has received
various distinctions, including the prestigious Chilean Amster Coré award.
Currently, she specializes in illustration applied to products and is a founding
member of the artists and surface designers collective “With love from Argentina.”

Laura is the author and co-author of several illustrated books. Her work has been
published by various international publishers and is part of the permanent design
collection at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires and the IDA Foundation
for Argentine Design Research.

She co-directs the postgraduate Program for Professional Illustration Update at
the University of Buenos Aires and has been involved in undergraduate teaching
for over 10 years at the same institution. Laura also gives lectures and workshops
in different countries.

She has contributed to the organization of the Professional Days for Illustrators at
the Buenos Aires Book Fair, coordinated the International Illustration Meeting MICA 2015, and is a member of the gender-focused design collective, Hay Futura.
