Zigeng Wang

Beijing, China

Mr. Zigeng Wang, the founder of PILLS, is an associate professor and head of
the Department of Architecture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He holds a
Master of Architecture from Princeton University and a PhD in Architecture from
Tongji University. He is the curator for the 2025 Osaka Expo China Pavilion and
serves as the chief curator and academic committee member for the 9th
Urbanism/Architecture Bi-City Biennale of Shenzhen and Hong Kong (UABB).
He was also a visiting professor at Syracuse University and Tsinghua University,
a lecturer at Beijing Film Academy. His research areas include environmental
technology, architectural exhibitions, architectural media and spatial narrative.

PILLS is a research-based architecture and art studio located in Beijing and
Shenzhen, China, founded by Zigeng Wang in 2018. Centered on contemporary
spatial culture, our works include critical practices such as: architecture and
interior design, installation and exhibition design, urban and landscape design,
cross-media production, as well as publication and cultural dissemination.
PILLS has been honored with numerous awards, including the ADC 103rd
Annual Awards Boutique Design Studio of the Year and Best of Discipline
(2024), London Design Awards Platinum Winner (2023), first prize of FairyTale
Competition (2015), first prize of Jacques Rougerie Competition (2015), second
prize of Norman Foster Foundation Kharkiv Housing Challenge Competition
(2024), Organizing Committee Award of Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism /
Architect (2023), Academic Committee Grand Award of Bi-City Biennale of
