More than 24 million people in Germany have a migrant background, yet important political speeches are still held exclusively in German. This excludes many from social discourse, with 15% speaking little to no German at home. To promote inclusion, “Open to Diversity” used AI to translate President Frank-Walter Steinmeier’s Christmas address into the 12 most spoken languages in Germany. For the very first time millions could experience the speech in their native language.
