In 2025, as free media in Georgia came under pressure, the Bank of Georgia revived Iveria-the19th-century newspaper - icon of defending nation’s identity and free speech. On Independence Day, The Independence Issue was brought back across every branch, reprinting historic articles on freedom and independence by Georgia’s greatest thinkers. All copies were taken in 24 hours, sparking reprints and showing that banks should also stand up for the power of a free press.
