Greg Shutters is a Chicago-based graphic designer specializing in type design and lettering.

For the better part of the past decade Greg has worked in various capacities in agency, in-house, and freelance environments for a variety of clients that run the gamut from small, five-person non-profit organizations to large television networks, and from new tech startups to New York’s Central Park.

He grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and attended and graduated from Marquette University, while taking additional design classes from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). After moving to New York, he graduated from the Type@Cooper Extended Program, where he honed his skills in type design and lettering.

In 2013, Greg began releasing commercial typefaces under his own label, “Typetanic Fonts”. For his commercial fonts, he won two consecutive awards from the esteemed Type Directors Club.

Greg moved back to the Midwest in 2015, and in addition to typeface design and lettering he does extensive work in logo design, visual branding, print layouts and environmental graphics.
