My name is Jappy Agoncillo, an Artist and Illustrator from Manila, Philippines - now based in New York. I originally went to school for Legal Management in the hopes of becoming a lawyer, but within those years in college I started freelancing and joining art markets on the side to make extra income and upon graduating I went full time freelance. I am primarily an illustrator, but I have a specialty in mural painting and street art, having grown up skateboarding and listening to punk and hip hop.I ran my own successful freelance practice in Manila for 5 years in 2017, working with and collaborating with big clients like Shake Shack, Adidas, Disney, and Playstation. I also was known to do guest speaking engagements for various schools and art seminars, the largest ones being Graphika Manila the same year Steven Sagmeister was a speaker, and Adobe Max online in 2020.In 2023 I moved to NYC on a O1 Visa to pursue a career in the US, and expand not only my network and client base but also my own perspective and insight. I have since been able to work with Warner Bros, The New York Rangers, Columbia Records, Sharpie, and Johnnie Walker to name a few, and be lucky enough to be invited to a good number of Mural Festivals in and out of New York.In 2023 I was a finalist for Colorful.
