Tara Anand is an award-winning Illustrator who has worked for clients like The New York Times, Netflix, Apple, The Washington Post, Penguin Randomhouse, etc. At the age of 19 Tara was awarded by the government of India for a series of illustrations she did about women in Indian history. She attended SVA and graduated with a BFA in 2022. As a student, she was awarded the prestigious Zankel scholarship (Society of Illustrators) as a student and has most recently won a Silver and Gold medal from the Society of Illustrators in the editorial category. Her illustration work has been recognized by American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, and the One Club for Creativity. Her picture books have been awarded by the Association of Science Education and the New York Public Library. She has four picture books out in 4 countries including Warrior Women (India), The Tiger's Tale (UK), The Lion Queen (USA, South Korea), and My Name is Long as a River (USA). Tara's clients include The New York Times, The New Yorker, Google, Apple, Scholastic, Penguin Randomhouse, Harper Collins, Tinder, Radiolab and The Washington Post She is currently working on a graphic novel out in 2025.
