My name is Hanna Wittmark and I started my advertising journey in 2005 when I was accepted to Bergh's School of Communication Advertising Program, in Stockholm Sweden. After graduation it was clear technology was changing this industry at lightning speed, so I quickly enrolled in one of the top digital schools in the world, Hyper Island, and received my masters in Interactive Art Direction.
During my final months at Hyper Island , I created a project that got the attention of Goodby Silverstein & Partners. The idea was a simple piece of technology that would allow for expecting parents to start building a bond with their child before it is born through real time experiences. This project help land me a job in a city I'd never been to, 5,500 miles from home.
Seven years late I'm still here because GS&P have always challenged me, encouraged my growth, and given me opportunities to do meaningful work. In addition to creating awarded work, I've been lucky enough to help mentor and coach young women in our industry. I've returned to Hyper Island on multiple occasions to lecture aspiring creative women on how to speak up for themselves in our male dominated field. I also met my Copywriter here and she's my first female creative partner.
I've helped pitch and win clients that I now oversee. I've won hardware at every major show, and am lucky enough to have some golds from two shows I used to dream about in ad school; Cannes and D&AD. While I've worked on almost every client GS&P has, I'm most proud of two different pro-bono campaigns I've done recently.
The first was an anti-bullying campaign I did last year that gained billions of impressions from around the world. And this year I shot a campaign with Will Ferrell encouraging families to connect more in real life without their phones. Both campaigns helped spread a positive message, were played on a very large scale, and most importantly have great results behind them.
I would mean the world to me to be the next female creative. It would help me grow as a leader and help me inspire other females out there.
