Dreadhead. Font Queen. Seltzer drinker. Malika Reid is something else. She’s Brooklyn born, but has British, Jamaican, and Trinidadian in her accent reservoir. She currently calls San Francisco her home but she will wax lyrical about her time in South Florida or Flatbush. She loves casting because she knows people are the most important part of any project. She’s passionate about creating work that reflects the world she lives in. She is sought out for the craft she brings to all stages of her work. She is obsessed with beautiful things, so that's what she makes. She’s a mentor to many junior creatives, providing a support system and adding extra polish where she can. She sees the potential in all things, including herself. She came into advertising through non-profit work, so her work definitely has a social justice undertones (or overtones, depending on who you’re talking to). In her spare time, she co-hosts a podcast where she dives into the world of white lies and what their origins say about people and culture.
