Born in Singapore, my first job in London after graduating university was as an Art Director at Apple. Familiar with working in a multilingual and multicultural environment, my job involved localising the work we made for the EMEA and MERT territories while maintaining Apple’s rigorous brand identity. After 5 years, I went back to my roots as a graphic designer, to focus on the detailed craft aspect of the work.
In my day to day projects, I believe in striving for more representation as I am deeply aware of the power I wield as a creative to shape how people see others. This can be seen through the use of diverse models and encouraging clients to use gender-inclusive language. I am a member of the DE&I team at AMV with a specific focus on neurodiversity and mental health. I created an informal support group for neurodiverse women and non-binary folks, offering guidance on how to access accommodations, appropriate healthcare and navigating a corporate environment. I am a member of the Accessibility Taskforce Alliance, seeking to develop an Accessible Advertising Process with ISBA focusing on ensuring all advertising be created with Closed Caption and Audio Description.
