Tobias started his advertising career as a copywriter at Scholz & Friends in 1996. After two years working on cigarettes, he went on to Springer & Jacoby to work for something much more inspiring: Mercedes-Benz.

In 2000 Tobias became Creative Director of Springer & Jacoby’s Unit 4, handling Mercedes-Benz as well as smart, Maybach, Loewe and Axel Springer (Germany’s biggest publishing house). In 2004 he was promoted to Executive Creative Director.

He left the agency in 2007 to work as a freelance Creative Director for renowned agencies such as Jung von Matt, BBH London, BBDO, Nordpol and Kempertrautmann. In 2011 he joined Kempertrautmann as a Creative Director for Audi.

In 2014, Tobias became Group Creative Director and Member of the Management Board at Grabarz & Partner, Germany’s number 1 independent agency in 2015 . There he created campaigns for Volkswagen and Burger King, for the German market and the international headquarters.

In 2019, Tobias went back to Scholz & Friends Hamburg to become Managing Director Creation and Partner of the Scholz & Friends Group.

Tobias has won around 700 awards, including Cannes Lions, One Show, Eurobest, LIAA, Clio and ADC of Europe and has served as a jury member and jury chairman for national and international juries like Eurobest, the British D&AD, the London international advertising award (LIAA), the One Show, Clio and the German Art Directors Club.
