Karan Dang – father to Aria Dang, is an internationally acclaimed creative leader, named as AdAge’s 40 under 40 in 2021 for propelling the field of Creativity and Marketing forward and ranked #6 Creative Director in the world according to the Cannes Lions Global Creativity Report, 2017. He has won over 150 international awards including the D&AD Impact Award, AdAge's Campaign of the Year, the Webby for Best Digital Campaign, Multiple best of shows at One Show & Clios and 2 Cannes Lions Grand Prixs amongst others. And judged major award shows such as Cannes Lions, One show, NYF, AICP Jury president etc Karan recently joined Walmart as Head of Brand Creative to lead Brand Creative, Social and Experiential for the Fortune #1 retailer. In his last role he led the West Coast Creative department at Disney’s 250+ person in-house agency, Yellow Shoes. Using a digital-first mindset and a high EQ, he pushed integrated, innovative, and inclusive storytelling for the world’s most beloved IP from Marvel to Star Wars to Pixar and beyond. He was also an executive member of BRAVE, diversity task force at Disney, working to shape a more inclusive future at the company. A key driver of gender equity at Yellow Shoes, he took his creative department to over 50% female in less than 1.5 years. At Disney, he has led new products and land expansions such as Avatar’s Pandora, Toy Story Land, Avengers Campus and the $2 Billion Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. He was also a driver of innovative marketing such as their first foray into programmatic creativity and new ways to engage young audiences with award winning campaigns such as WDW D-Camp, Toy Story Land’s #FollowTheBall, Disneyland’s Likes for Lights, and Star Wars’ First in the Galaxy. In the past, Karan has led successful transformations at 180LA & Deutsch LA centered on developing a stellar creative reputation, leading large, cross-functional, Integrated and diverse departments and delivering business results.
