INDEX is a print publication started in 2020 during lockdown as a collaboration across three states and two time zones. Our process encourages chance operations; each designer is free to modify and reuse elements from each other’s work. After three consecutive edits, the result is published via print-on-demand, inviting imperfections and variations in the final copies.

In each issue, we expand upon a common set of visual techniques to communicate and explore how much is designed, including history and place. And how we are now together unpacking the sedimentary layers, excavating bias, then dismantling, mocking, remixing, recasting, reclaiming.
