Our annual Future of Work Issue focused on retirement. Throughout the issue we examined what people need to do to achieve their retirement dreams, followed workers on their last day, looked at how relationships evolve once both partners are no longer working, and asked ‘Who are the young retirees?’ The design approach plays on the themes of uncertainty and the passage of time. Using our house fonts, we incorporated blurred, shifting letterforms that nod to the fluidity and unpredictability of this stage of life and to the complex and evolving nature of the future.
