Technology rules the world. We all know that. And for lots of reasons, guys seem to rule the technology that rules the world. (We know that, too.) We created MadewithCode.com with Google because even though more aspects in our lives are powered by technology, women aren’t represented in the companies, labs, research, creative arts, organizations, and boardrooms that make technology happen. If girls are inspired to see that Computer Science can make the world more beautiful, more usable, more safe, more kind, more innovative, more healthy, and more funny, then they will begin to contribute their essential voices. We created a website that for the first time, unites coding organizations and non-profits in one place, developed 13 coding projects to creatively engage girls, shot 12 documentaries that give girls role models and produced an Anthem film to help parents, teachers, and educators see how important coding really is.
