About the Work
smart has a mission: finding new solutions for urban problems. Instead of only communicating that, we wanted to prove it. The insight: cross-walks are the most dangerous spots in the city. In an urban experiment we tested traffic lights where everybody likes to wait: with a dancing red traffic light figure. Passersby could slip into the role of the red man. Their movements were brought to the traffic lights in realtime. The effect: 81% more people waited.
