About the Work
In Colombia, more than 5,400 children a year lose one of their limbs in accidents or violence from armed conflict and most existing prosthesis are not suited for their development. Cirec Foundation helps kids with disabilities between 3 and 12 years old. Through donations the kids can get psychological treatment and a functional prosthesis so they can reintegrate to the society. Funtastic Hand is the first playful prosthesis in the world that it´s a toy at the same time. It´s a mix between technology and LEGO that a kid with disability could build. It´s easy to use, easy to put and gives autonomy to the kid to develop his imagination. Besides it´s a tool for kids with disability to reintegrate to society and so that they could interact with other kids through playing.
