About the Work
CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, is behind some of the world’s greatest inventions, including Wi-Fi, Aeroguard, paper bank notes, extended use contact lenses and the world’s first flu treatment. While highly trusted by Australians, research suggested that CSIRO's awareness had been in decline, particularly with 18-29 year olds. Those that did know more about CSIRO considered them to be old fashioned and unapproachable. Also, as part of their mandate, CSIRO was charged with making energy affordable, abundant and accessible to all Australians. In order to achieve this goal, they needed to position themselves as thought leaders and take control of the conversation around Australia's energy future. Our brief was to position CSIRO as a progressive organisation. To to start the conversation, we wanted to take the complex issue of energy creation and develop a feel-good campaign that engaged and educated Australians about CSIRO's commitment in this area.
