About the Work

#EndangeredEmoji is a first of its kind Twitter-based fundraising campaign launched by WWF and operated entirely through its twitter page. Its objective is to help raise awareness of endangered species around the world, amongst the next generation of donators. The campaign associates 17 endangered animals with 17 official animal emoji, and encourages people to use them in their tweets. Every time a user tweets one of the animal emoji, it automatically translates into an optional micro-donation of 10p / 10c that goes towards protecting the animals in the real world. Nothing has to be downloaded for users to participate, meaning that anyone can join in and help support WWF.
