About the Work
To stand out from a crowded field of VR demos at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, we wanted to move Samsung beyond standard product demos. Instead of just showing what VR can do, we set out to create an exciting, large-scale experience that would become the talk of the convention. We constructed a 28-seat 4D VR Thrill Ride. Riders wore Samsung Gear VR headsets and sat in 4D simulation chairs that whisked them away on a wooden roller coaster. New content-syncing software allowed us to connect every VR headset, meaning visitors could simultaneously experience the “ride.”
