Do you still remember your parents’ phone number? That’s because most adults didn’t have mobile phones when they grew up. Calling someone meant dialing the phone number time and time again until we knew it by heart. Unfortunately, children nowadays have smartphones, and don’t know their parents’ phone number by heart anymore. That’s because they just need to press a contact name to call someone. Because 1 in 5 children gets lost while on holidays, Missing Children Europe finds it crucial that children know their parents’ phone number by heart, even if they don’t have their own smartphone on them. The free ‘Remumber’ app changes a child’s smartphone passcode into the phone number of their parents. So instead of entering a random passcode dozens of times a day, they’re now practicing their parents’ phone number until it is engraved in their brains and in their fingers. Simple yet very effective.
