About the Work

How do you convince notoriously skeptical developers that MindSphere is the best platform to build apps for the Industrial IOT? You demonstrate what it can do. But Siemens MindSphere hadn’t launched. So we couldn’t show the power of the platform in the real industrial world. Instead, we built our own world – a one-stop mini microcosm for the industrial IOT. We connected it to real sensors capturing industrial data. Then we added live-streaming cameras and took it online in a 24/7 live web experience. We wrote code that passed a universal time-stamp through each data stream and created a perfectly synchronized browser experience. And we made our data sets more robust with an interactive lighting system that turned night into day every four minutes. We could show developers the one thing that proved that the platform was truly awesome – live MindSphere code captured from sensors in real time.
