About the Work
Elevator giant KONE had made it possible to track the data feed from a million elevators -a second - using IBM Watson IoT cloud. We knew talking about AI, Machine Learning and IoT would get us nowhere. So, we asked a simple question, "has anyone ever HEARD machines talk to each other - in real-time?" Tapping into the real time dataflow between KONE elevators and Watson, we made it possible for the first time for people to hear meaningful machine-to-machine conversations - live. Over 500 machine-to-machine signals were copywritten into human language, and synthetized using IBM BlueMix to give our elevators human voices. The "Talking Elevators" phenomenon reached 755 million people, and were featured in over 1300 articles from USA Today to Forbes, Quartz to Financial Times, and BoingBoing to the World Economic Forum, earning us visibility worth over 7 000 000 EUR.
