For Millennials who stream everything, there’s nothing scarier than a WiFi dead zone. So Xfinity launched xFi Pods: small, plug-in WiFi extenders. There was just one problem: Millennials didn’t know they existed. So with Halloween approaching, we used xFi Pods to create a social experience sure to get their attention--Project Dead Zone, the first live interactive horror film. We first drove our audience to Twitter for a live streamed paranormal investigation of the largest haunted house in the U.S, the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA. xFi Pods were used to eliminate every dead zone in the 24,000 square-foot mansion and allowed viewers to direct a team of paranormal investigators without interruption. But moments into the event, the audience was shocked when the house became possessed and trapped the team. Some viewers even dialed 911. Suddenly, the live stream was the only way anyone could get out alive.
