About the Work
Touching Masterpieces presented to the blind an entirely new way to connect to the world. The focus of Virtual Reality haptics development around the globe has mostly been in military or gaming, and it‘s only been prototyped to enhance the Visual Virtual Reality experience. NeuroDigital based the whole experience solely on touch, and gave the blind audience a remarkable experience - to 'see', through Virtual Touch, world’s most iconic sculptural masterpieces. This opened up a new era of digital accessibility for blind and visually impaired people. The ‘Touching Masterpieces’ exhibition at Prague’s National Gallery launched this message globally. The video story of a blind student Kuba, documenting the experience was placed across Social Media. Pitched to numerous publications, it resulted in over 544 million impressions in 172 countries and sparked a debate amongst the public and tech leaders globally about how much more Virtual Reality and technology can offer humanity.
