The packaging system for the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR family is inspired by the product itself. It is conceived as a modular and utilitarian design, with bold typography and clean iconography that aligns across the assorted boxes, allowing them to be viewed as a continuous system. The packaging is made entirely out of paper, protecting the product using an engineered paper structure—instead of foam—making the boxes 100% recyclable. A custom varnish pattern, evocative of the product’s lattice design, covers the exterior surfaces of the boxes and gives them tactility while metallic inks enhance the product iconography. The utilitarian language continues inside the packaging with illustrations that acquaint the owner with the details of the system and highlight key setup instructions.
