About the Work
The orca is an iconic mammal of Vancouver Island. But since 1995, the Southern Resident Killer Whales of Canada have declined by over 20%, totalling only 73 orcas—a 30-year low. To improve perceptions of the Vancouver Island Brewing brand and further establish them as “the” brewery of the Island, we created a 4-pack of special edition beers with proceeds to help preserve the orca population. Each of the beers is named after a different whale in the pod and designed to mimic that specific orca—matching their unique eye and saddle patches. The box even has a dorsal fin that pops up as a handle.
