Turkey is on the verge of being water poor and yet, people are wasting water like there is no tomorrow. 3 years ago, to create an awareness on upcoming drought and change people’s behavior, Finish has started a water preservation campaign.
In Turkey, 50% of people are pre-rinsing their dishes, which means 57 liters of water is wasted every cycle.
Since the beginning, we focus on one thing: stop pre-rinsing and save 57 liters of water.
In our third year of water preservation campaign, we wanted to put water saving on every single person’s agenda.
Water is the most undervalued resource. Currencies, stocks and oil is nothing compared to the value of a water. And until now, there was no attempt to show water’s true value.
So, we created an index (Finish Water Index) which shows the true value of water. Reserves, forecasts, industrial, agricultural and domestic consumption all go into a regularly computed formula.
Currently the index is at 84. Below 70 is water poor. Above 100 is plenty. As the index becomes part of our daily life, we started to save more. Since the launch of the index, the amount of water consumption has decreased by 9%.
