About the Work
“Forever” represented a big step for our company and brand.
The spot brings to life our company’s mission and our guiding principle, Long Live Dogs. Everything we do is about helping people give their dogs a long, healthy, happy life, and celebrating the dog-human relationship.
That mission in turn springs directly from why and how the company started. Brett, our co-founder, has a dog who had terrible stomach issues for years. He tried every food on the market to try and make her better. Finally, based on a vet recommendation, he tried feeding her fresh food which changed her life. And when he looked into why, he realized there was a huge disconnect between what we believed was in these pet-food bags and the highly processed products actually inside them. He and his friend (our co-founder) Jonathan decided to build a different kind of pet food company, making fresh, human-grade food for dogs, delivered right to people's doors. Since launching, the company has changed a category, changed the diets and lives of countless dogs, and delivered 500 million meals to customers’ doors.
In the next phase of our company’s growth, we were starting to speak to a much broader audience of all dog owners; it was time for a more emotional message about how much dogs really mean to us. We love dogs. We love the little moments, and the impact they have on our lives.
That's why we exist. It’s who we are. The spot sprang directly from that.
We didn’t set out to make a Super Bowl ad. But when we saw the spot, we knew we wanted to bring it to the biggest stage possible. We wanted all dog lovers to see this beautiful story about how much dogs mean in our lives, and to convey that the best way to look after them is with a healthy diet.
We’ve been bowled over by the reaction, from the audience, and from the media. We think it’s because it’s a simple but true story that every dog person can connect with (and cry over).
