About the Work
The new Insurtech life insurance company Ladder was looking for a second chapter of their successful launch campaign “So Dead” that was full of the same humor and insight as the original film. To create a film even more unexpected than the launch campaign, we once again played into the insight that almost 1 in 2 couples with life insurance joke about taking each other out for the payout (according to a recent survey of 3,000+ respondents) — this time featuring an unexpected animal and a master plan by the matriarch of the family.
With the help of a crocodile — a masterfully operated life-size mechanical puppet — the Mom character attempts to collect the Dad's great life insurance policy with Ladder with a romantic rendezvous-turned-rouse. Creating the sensual background music and the film itself with the help of acclaimed director Casey Storm, “Crocodile” was able to strike the same balance between humor and engagement that led to the success of Ladder’s launch campaign.
