About the Work
The truth about the holiday season is that while we’re all booking our travel to get home and spend time with our families, nearly 70% of Americans reported that they come into some sort of conflict during Thanksgiving dinner. We wanted to show people the power of planning ahead by not just preparing to get to their holiday gathering but also planning for their escape out of there. Uber’s role in this? Their new product ‘Uber Reserve’ lets you book your car up to 30 days in advance.
The campaign kicked off with a short film called “The Getaway” where our protagonists, Sarah and her boyfriend Adam, are executing their getaway plan from her family’s Thanksgiving dinner. From dodging personal questions, to getting away from angsty teens and wandering grandmothers, we see Sarah and Adam who have had their fill of food and family time, take a series of evasive maneuvers to make a highly choreographed escape, thanks in large part, to their Uber Reserve.
“Uber Reserve presents: The Getaway” showed audiences the value of planning ahead in an unexpected and highly watchable way.
