About the Work
Yabie develops smart point-of-sale systems that help small businesses streamline their sales. Among Yabie's customers are numerous restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. But right now, they're facing tougher times than ever. Every day, these businesses not only need to make enough money to survive, but they are also forced to throw away food that has been left over. For them, food waste isn't just an environmental shame, but also a major blow to their finances.
To show that we care about small businesses, we created the 'Last Call' campaign. The first to benefit was the local bakery, Socker Sucker, for which we transformed digital outdoor screens into smart, real-time offers. An hour before closing, the bakery could promote products that hadn't sold during the day on nearby screens. With the help of a specially developed application, the bakery could update all information in real-time with prices, inventory, and availability.
The campaign was picked up by one of Frances biggest radio stations (RTL2) who ran a 2-minute long segment about the campaign and cause. Besides this, it was picked up by a wide range of news sites. The locations of the DOOH’s had around 900,000 visits in a city with around 1,000,000 citizens. And, most importantly, Yabie helped Socker Sucker sell all their products. A win for the environment and for the bakeries finances.
